• All income must be verified by a third party. Forms granting permission must be signed.
• All family members must provide their Social Security card and Birth Certificate.
• Individuals or families participating in the program have to be recertified at least once a year.

  Landlord Signing Paperwork

• The program does not provide for the payment of Security Deposit or Utility Deposits.
• After the first year, the tenancy may terminate the lease upon a thirty (30) day written notice sent to the landlord and to this agency.
• All apartments are inspected initially and each year after to be sure they meet Department of Housing and Urban Development standards.

Does your total annual income from all family members and all sources add up to less, but not greater, than income limits set by the Department of Housing and Urban Development? h

If you answered YES to any of these questions, you may be eligible for rental assistance.

 

Applications and additional information are available at the Amsterdam Housing Authority office at 52 Division Street, weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All eligible applicants are placed on the waiting list. Applicants will be notified by mail when their name reaches the top of the list. It is the applicant's responsibility to notify the Amsterdam Housing Authority of a change of address.
